Pricing and billing
What does BookedPod cost?
$99 a month (a limited-time founding rate, normally $299) plus $300 per confirmed placement. There is no setup fee, no success fee, and no percentage on the back end.
When does the $300 placement fee actually apply?
Only when a recording date is confirmed on your calendar, for a show you approved in advance. Never for an interested reply, a pre-call that doesn't convert, a show you pass on, or a booking that falls through.
Does the placement fee still apply if a host passes on me after a pre-call?
No. If a host requires a pre-call and then decides not to move forward, that placement is replaced with another show at no extra charge.
Are there hidden fees after a booking?
No. The only other cost that can ever appear is a host's own appearance fee (a minority of shows charge $100 to $200), and it is disclosed to you for approval before we commit you to that show.
Where do I see what I've been charged?
In your client portal. Every $300 placement is billed as its own itemized invoice naming the show and the booking date, alongside your subscription invoices and receipts. Log in at bookedpod.com/portal.
How do you charge for placements?
Your card is stored securely with Stripe at signup. The $300 runs automatically when a placement is confirmed on your calendar, with a receipt for each one.
I need more than four shows a month. Is there a bundle?
Yes. The volume plans at bookedpod.com/plans start at $1,499/mo with a guaranteed minimum of four bookings monthly, and four is a floor, never a cap. Start pay-per-booking; if your volume outgrows it, we will tell you and move you over.
The contract
Do I have to sign a contract somewhere else?
No. The full Client Services Agreement lives at bookedpod.com/agreement and you accept it as part of checkout. Nothing arrives by DocuSign, and your acceptance is recorded with a timestamp on your billing account.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. Month to month, cancel any time from your portal. Plan on about 90 days to judge it fairly: the first month is largely pitching, and results compound after that.
The process
How soon does anything happen?
Outreach starts around week two, within about a week of you finishing onboarding. Larger podcasts often schedule recordings weeks or months out; booked and recorded are two different dates and we keep both visible to you.
What kind of shows will I be on?
Shows in the top 10% of their charts or niche: hosts with hundreds of episodes, real websites, show notes, and genuine production. The one exception is a small show unusually relevant to your exact buyer, and even then you approve it first.
Do I get to approve the shows?
Yes. Nothing gets pitched until you have seen the list and signed off, and you can strike anything for any reason without explaining yourself.
What do I actually get out of each episode besides the appearance?
Show notes with a backlink to your site, a YouTube video, social clips, and distribution to the host's audience on Spotify and Apple, plus repurposed short-form content from us afterward.
Do I need to already have a podcast or an audience?
No. This is about being a guest on other people's shows. You need a point of view and 30 minutes per appearance, not followers.
What if I've never done a podcast before?
No problem. You get a prep brief before every show covering the host, the audience, and your talking points, and we coach you on a value-first approach. Many hosts share questions ahead of time.
What if I'm not famous?
You don't need to be. We've booked plenty of high-converting guests without big followings. Hosts book expertise and stories, not follower counts.
Do I need a media kit or one-sheet?
No: we build it for you. A custom podcast one-sheet, bio, and media kit are part of the service.
Why podcasts
How does podcasting get me into ChatGPT's answers?
AI models train on podcast transcripts and cite them when someone asks who to hire. AI doesn't believe what you say about yourself on your own website; it believes what it heard about you on other people's shows. Every appearance is training data for the answer engines your buyers already use.
Why not just pitch shows myself?
You can. What you would be rebuilding is a 30,000-show database, verified sending infrastructure, host relationships, AI matching, and the willingness to send 50 follow-ups to one host. The pitch is the easy part; the follow-up grind is the job.
